Residential Fireplace Disclosure

Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District) has adopted amendments to regulations on fine particulate emissions from residential wood burning.  Effective June 1, 2016, the regulation requires anyone who is selling, renting or leasing property in the nine counties of the Bay Area that has a wood-burning device to disclose health hazards of particulate emissions.

To comply with the new requirements, the Air District has provided a “Residential Fireplace Disclosure” that must be signed by the buyer or renter upon receipt.
